Redken’s Club 5th Avenue Welcomes New Elite Salon, Imagine Hair Design, Newburgh, Indiana!

 Imagine Hair Redken Elite

April 5 , 2016 (New York, NY) – Imagine Hair Design, Newburgh, Indiana has attained Elite Salon status and will now exclusively carry Redken 5th Avenue NYC fashion-driven, technologically- advanced professional salon products.

Redken’s Club 5th Avenue is a program designed to provide salons with exciting rewards and effective tools to grow their business, like education to further develop staff, product samples to drive retail business, electronics to modernize operations, advertising to attract new clients and NYC-inspired fashions to urbanize style.  Elite Salons have achieved the highest level of the program.

For every dollar a salon spends on Redken products they earn Club Points – the more purchased, the greater the reward.  Details on joining and tracking status can be found on’s site for salon professionals.

“One of the biggest benefits to an Elite Salon is the ability to become specialized in a single product line. Naturally, this allows the staff to develop an expert understanding of the products they work with on a daily basis. We believe that when stylists feel empowered and confident with the products they use, they provide superior salon experiences for their clientele, both in services and product recommendations. Many times salons carry several lines and the knowledge base is that much weaker, because the education is spread among many brands instead of just focusing on one,” explains Tori Poulter, Vice President of Sales

(1) The first step in the process is to make sure your model has clean, dry skin, and of course, make sure there are no allergies. Take a wedge cosmetic sponge and apply a thin layer of liquid latex. Take small pieces of tissue paper (1 ply) and place it right over the latex before it has a chance to dry. Build a couple of layers.  As the latex dries, it will draw the skin and give a wrinkled effect. Be sure to let the layers of latex and tissue dry in between.

(2) Once the latex/tissue layers are dry, take a pair of tweezers and or cuticle scissors and pick away at the layers to give the appearance of holes in the skin.

(3) Take a wedge cosmetic sponge and pick pieces off of the end to give it a textured surface. Use this sponge to apply makeup to the face and neck. I chose to use a yellow (to give a sallow/sick look) as well as a few different shades of purple. Dab the sponge into the makeup and onto the skin constantly moving and turning the sponge to give an uneven texture.

(4) I used a 2 part silicone product to create the bite mark and the gashes across the forehead. Kryolan’s Artex or 3rd Degree are a couple of options. Once the products are mixed together, you have about 5 minutes to work before it cures. I lay the product on the skin and leave one side thick while tapering the other side flush with the skin. This creates the allusion of depth in the wound. The great thing about these products is that they adhere to themselves, so you can keep building layer on top of layer until you get the desired depth.

(5) Now you are ready to paint! This is where you get to be creative. Ask yourself if you want the wounds to be fresh (choose pinks and reds) or if you want the wounds to be old (maybe choose dark reds, brown, yellows). You could also use greens, greys, and black for more of a zombie effect. The sky is the limit. Have fun!
